BEWARE unrealistic “Retail-Prices” for Hermes Handbags
I have stopped buying from them because I have noticed that they put way too high so-called “retail prices” on Hermes bags. First I contacted sellers asking them to correct their “retail price” then it turned out that it is actually Rebelle that determines and shows a “retail price” so that potential buyers can compare the price on Rebelle with the price they would pay in the shop if they bought the product new.
E.g. a Hermes Picotin has a retail price of ca. 7650 EUR according to Rebelle. In reality the price for a new Picotin including the glass(es) of champagne they will serve you at the Hermes boutique is around 2000 and 2500 EUR depending on the size and special feature. At Rebelle there are sellers who are selling this bag for 3000 and even 4000 EUR USED and the Rebelle website still claims that you are SAVING money vs. the retail price while in reality you are paying MORE. I find this practice extremely mis-leading for potential buyers who may trust Rebelle’s expertise.
I have pointed out that issue to Rebelle more than once for various Hermes bags several months ago. I slowly get the impression that they have no interest in correcting what I originally believed an “oversight”. I do not trust them to be able to authenticate an Hermes handbag if they are not even able to look up the correct retail price in the Hermes online shop. As a consequence I will now have a third party assess the authenticity of the Hermes bag that I have previously purchased from Rebelle.
